dibs.

Changelog

What changed in Dibs, newest first.

  1. Fewer real listings hidden, fewer toys

    • A listing whose title contains a distinctive word from your search always alerts.
    • Toy, costume, Lego and die-cast listings are no longer sent on vehicle and equipment searches, unless you search for them.
    • A listing that shows up in more than one of your searches, or that you were not told about the first time, now alerts instead of being treated as a duplicate.
    • Listings Facebook shows us a few hours late still alert.
  2. Facebook results that do not match are set aside

    • Facebook sometimes mixes unrelated listings into a search. Dibs now keeps the clear mismatches out of your alerts.
    • They are not deleted: Finds shows how many were set aside, with a link to show them.
  3. Reposts stay quiet

    • A listing the seller reposts, even at a new price, no longer alerts a second time.
  4. Signing up on a phone is clearer

    • The install link you send yourself opens a page that says dibs.deals, then takes you to the store.
    • If your computer has not connected yet, the waiting card now says why.
  5. Prices, OfferUp and blocked sites

    • Prices written with a currency code, like MYR4,800 or 180 CHF, are read correctly, and euros, pounds and other currencies keep their own symbol.
    • OfferUp: promoted tiles are skipped, and Dibs tells you when OfferUp has no location set.
    • If a site shows your account empty pages, Dibs says so, slows down and picks up again by itself. You do not need to pause anything.
  6. Old listings that look new stay quiet

    • Facebook sometimes shows an old listing as if it were new. Dibs now keeps those out of your alerts.
    • Facebook alerts use the listing time Facebook gives, so they only fire for listings that are actually new.
  7. Free stuff, and clearer alerts

    • A free-stuff preset for all three marketplaces, with its own page at /free-stuff-alerts.
    • Alert emails say how long ago a listing went up.
    • Every alert has a link to stop that search, and it works without signing in.
    • A new search sends one "Watching" message, not several.
  8. Phones can set up searches

    • Sign up on your phone, then add and manage searches on dibs.deals.
    • You can change a search in place instead of making a new one.
    • Marketplace pages that are not a search or a category are no longer accepted as a search.
  9. Dibs names the problem when a site stops it

    • A sign-in page or a checkpoint is now named in the panel, so you know what to fix.
    • You stay signed in for as long as you keep using Dibs.
  10. Phone alerts and easier sign-up

    • Install Dibs from a phone and get listing alerts as notifications.
    • Phone visitors can sign up and email themselves the install link.
    • The dashboard opens with a card to add your first search, and the newest searches come first.
  11. Alerts say which search found it

    • Email subjects carry the price and the search name, and push notifications lead with the search.
    • Unsubscribe works from the email without signing in.
    • The panel shows whether each search is running.
    • Facebook prices in euros, pounds, and Canadian and Australian dollars are read correctly, and cards outside the US get their town.
